WHO WE ARE
Helping Mum bake a cake is a memory many of us cherish—especially when it means licking the bowl afterwards! For Carl Quarrell, this love for baking began as a child, helping his mum, June, create sweet treats in their family kitchen. June’s cakes were so popular that her home-bakery quickly grew into a little cake shop in Perth, Western Australia.
In 2003, Carl took over as Director, combining a growth mindset with June’s traditional recipes to expand the range Australians love. From cupcakes and muffins to slices, biscuits, and even a gluten-free range, Great Temptations continues to manufacture quality baked products.
In 2010, Marcus Shaw brought his bakery expertise as Director, driving further growth. By 2020, rising demand led to the opening of a 2,500sqm facility in Neerabup, where we continue to bake with passion.

Our Story
1991
Opened our first retail outlet in Karrinyup, WA.
Our journey began in Karrinyup, Western Australia, where we opened our very first retail outlet, sharing our love for freshly baked treats with the local community.
1997
Acquired our first manufacturing site.
Taking a major step forward, we acquired our first manufacturing site, paving the way for greater production capacity and growth.
2007
Launched the iconic Fairy Cake.
A game-changer in our lineup, the launch of our Fairy Cake introduced a classic favourite that has delighted fans ever since.
2009
Expanded to a larger manufacturing site.
With demand continuing to grow, we upgraded to a larger manufacturing site to support our expanding product range and customer base.
2014
Introduced MufNutz to the market.
We added a cheeky twist to our offerings with the introduction of MufNutz, combining fun and flavour in a uniquely irresistible way.
2020
Relocated to our current site in Neerabup.
In response to exponential growth, we moved to a purpose-built 2,500sqm facility in Neerabup, setting the stage for even greater innovation and expansion.
OUR PURPOSE BUILT FACTORY
Opened in 2020, our state-of-the-art facility in Neerabup is fully SQF Certified and temperature-controlled to ensure product consistency and quality baked products. It features cutting-edge technology, including a fully automated muffin and cake line producing 12,000 units per hour, an automatic robotic ultrasonic cutter for precise slicing, a 400-litre mixer for large-scale production, and a 300-pallet chiller to maintain freshness.
With ongoing investments in automating the packaging area and currently running on a single shift, the facility has significant capacity for growth. We’ve also purchased the block next door to support future expansion, ensuring we’re ready to meet increasing demand. Our purpose-built factory reflects our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and delivering premium-quality baked products.
